Omaha poker rules

Omaha poker is mostly played with the best card combination; however, the High-Low version is popular. Alongside with Omaha High-Low some other variations might occur: Omaha Hi-Lo, Omaha Hi/Lo, Omaha High/Low and etc.; but it’s the same game. In Europe the regular Omaha poker version dominates (the best card combination wins). In America the version Omaha High-Low is gaining more and more popularity (the best and the worse card combination win, the prize is splitted). Before starting the game, it is worth to review the rules so as avoid falling in a trap.

The Omaha poker rules are based on the Texas Hold`em poker rules, but they have some substantial differences:
• Four cards are delivered to each player (The Pocket Cards).
• For the purpose of collecting best combination the player must use two pocket cards and three general cards from the table.
• At most 10 players can participate in the game.

Four cards with draws down are delivered to each player. Then the first round of action starts.

In Omaha poker all action rounds are alike Texas Hold`em poker rounds:
• Preflop: two cards with the faces down are delivered to each player, beginning with the player who made the small blind.
• Flop: the dealer delivers to the center of the table first three general cards with the faces up.
• Turn: to the center of the table the fourth card with face up is delivered.
• River: fifth and last card are delivered with face up to the center of the table.

The player with the best five card combination wins.
Note: you may not play with all five general cards (Play the Board), because you HAVE to use two cards from your delivery when collecting a combination.
